Jason K. Norris, PhD(c)
Jason K. Norris, PhD(c), is a professional musician, performing artist, sound healing practitioner, dream worker, and researcher of consciousness. He is a doctoral candidate with the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) researching "rhythm psychology" and "sonic mysticism." Jason holds a Master’s degree in Consciousness Studies and a graduate certificate in Dream Studies from John F. Kennedy University (JFKU). His Bachelor’s degree is in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). He is an authorized HealthRHYTHMS facilitator and also trained in the use of Biosonics tuning forks, as well as techniques from The Vox Mundi Project.
A life-long musician, Jason has been a multi-instrumentalist for various musical projects, performing in such popular Bay Area venues as the Great American Music Hall and the de Young Museum. He has also led dream performance troupes and organized theatrical productions working with dreams, music, and consciousness. Jason has training in African (Djembe), Middle Eastern (Doumbek), Native American (Gathering), Shamanic (Frame), and Indian (Tabla) hand drumming, as well as various facilitation techniques.
His research interests revolve around exploring the psycho-spiritual effects of sound and rhythm within cross-cultural, wisdom traditions. His work integrates sound with intention, intuition, movement, dreams, nature, and ancestry to access inner wisdom and promote personal – and collective – growth and well-being. He has been involved with The International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), The Dream Institute of Northern California, The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) and EarthRise Center, Chi Healing Center, Veriditas, Vista Family Health, Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association (ACCMA), Bayside Marin, The Shift Network, Elder Care Alliance, Miracle Girls, The Resonance Center, AXIS Dance Company, and more.
Jason has facilitated various workshops, performances, drum circles, and special events throughout the western United States. He is the founder of Lucid Drum and currently offers vibrational services in California and beyond.
His music has been featured in international film, such as the documentary Death Makes Life Possible with Deepak Chopra.
